Two powerful Naval armies square off for supremacy over the high seas in our exclusive clip from Admiral, arriving on VOD and Digital HD formats February 23, before arriving in select theaters on March 11. Frank Lammers stars as Dutch captain Michiel de Ruyter, who is featured in this clip as his ship engages in warfare. Will the Dutch fleet live to see another day? From the looks of this scene, it seems they're in quite a strong position.

When the young republic of The Netherlands is attacked by England, France and Germany and the country itself is on the brink of civil war, only one man can lead the county's strongest weapon, the Dutch fleet: Michiel de Ruyter. This film is based on the true story of Michiel de Ruyter, the 17th Century admiral who became famous for his battles in the Anglo-Dutch Wars. He scored several victories against both the English and French armies, and was beloved by his sailors, who gave him the nickname "Bestevaêr," which is an older Dutch word for 'grandfather.'

Michiel de Ruyter (1607-1676) was one of the largest and passionate innovators in combat engineering and therefore he became a naval hero in Holland. As the deeply torn Netherlands is attacked from all sides and on the verge of civil war, one man tries to fight for the interests of the country: Michiel de Ruyter. But in the eyes of those in power, his successes make him too popular and Michiel was sent on a deadly mission.

The supporting cast includes Charles Dance, Rutger Hauer, Barry Atsma, Daniel Brocklebank, Tygo Gernandt, Aurélie Meriel, Filip Peeters, Egbert Jan Weeber and Derek de Lint. Roel Reiné, a native of the Netherlands, directs from a script by Lars Boom and Alex van Galen. Roel Reiné most recently directed The Man with the Iron Fists 2 and The Condemned 2: Desert Prey.

Admiral will be going up against 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Brothers Grimsby, The Perfect Match and The Young Messiah in its March 11 release date, but those movies will open in wide release and Admiral will only be getting a limited theatrical release. Take a look at our exclusive clip from Admiral before checking it out on VOD and Digital HD formats starting tomorrow. Will you be giving Admiral a shot on VOD this week?
