IFC Films has acquired North American rights to Scott Coffey's comedy Adult World. The film debuted at this year's Tribeca Film Festival in April.

Emma Roberts, Evan Peters and John Cusack star in the film about Amy, a naive poet that is trying to launch her writing career. Struggling to make ends meet, she takes a job at an upstate New York town's local sex shop called Adult World.

Scott Coffey directed the project from a script written by Andy Cochran. Treehouse Pictures' Justin Nappi and Kevin Turen produced alongside Joy Gorman and Alex Goldstone of Anonymous Content.

President of Sundance Selects/IFC Films Jonathan Sehring said this about the acquisition.

"Scott Coffey has directed a charming film with a terrific breakout performance from Emma Roberts. We are excited about the filmmaker's shared enthusiasm about bringing this film to audiences as a day and date release."

Producer Justin Nappi also expressed his excitement for the project.

"We're incredibly excited to be in business with IFC Films, a company that has been a home to so many amazing films. To secure a distribution deal that will take Adult World to audiences across North America is a testament to the talent and creativity of Scott and the filmmaking team behind the movie, and we feel incredibly proud about what has been achieved."
