It was a double-whammy victory for Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment's Aeon Flux, as the sci-fi actioner starring Charlize Theron stormed to the top of both the DVD sales and rental charts for the week ending April 30, accoridng to The Hollywood Reporter.

A boxoffice underperformer ($25.9 million domestic gross against a budget estimated at $55 million), Aeon Flux scored an easy victory on VideoScan's First Alert sales chart. A surprise contender, however, finished a strong No. 2: Sony Pictures' Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, a Japanese anime film based on the best-selling video game of the same name. The computer-animated movie was produced in 2004 and released directly to video by Sony on April 25 in a lavish two-disc special edition.
