We have a brand new trailer for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6. This isn't the first footage we've seen from the upcoming season of the long-running Marvel TV series. It is much more telling and revealing though. We previously saw a teaser that heralded the arrival of an evil version of Phil Coulson that raised far more questions than answers. It really just focused on one sequence. This full trailer gives us a better idea of what this strange new character is up to, in addition to throwing a bunch of big-budget comic book action into the mix.

Things kick off rather dramatically, in space, with the team trying to pick up the pieces, uniting under new leadership without Coulson. A mystery begins to unravel, as someone who happens to look just like Coulson, only evil, begins to wreak havoc on Earth. The footage is full of action, drama and very high stakes. It's also set to a very eerie version of In the End, as made famous by Linkin Park, just to get the mood right.

Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson), Henry Simmons (Alphonso MacKenzie), Chloe Bennet (Daisy Johnson), Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Natalia Cordova-Buckley (Elena Rodriguez), Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma Simmons), Iain De Caestecker (Leo Fitz), and Jeff Ward (Deke Shaw) all return in season 6. The season premiere, titled Missing Pieces, sees the team scattered across the galaxy as they work to find their footing in the wake of losing Coulson. New characters making their way to the show this year include Karolina Wydra as Izel, Christopher James Baker as Malachi, and Barry Shabaka Henley as Dr. Marcus Benson.

As far as live-action Marvel TV goes, there aren't many games left in town. We've got Cloak and Dagger, The Runaways and this. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was actually the first new live-action show of the Marvel Cinematic Universe era and, somehow, it's outlasted everything else. Even though the Netflix Marvel shows such as Daredevil and Luke Cage had a large fanbase, those all bit the dust and are a thing of the past. For now at least, ABC's series is the cornerstone of Marvel TV. Marvel is developing several live-action shows such as Falcon and Winter Soldier that will be more firmly rooted in the MCU for Disney+. Once those shows actually debut, they're sure to take the spotlight.

Clark Gregg actually made his return to the big screen as Phil Coulson earlier this year in Captain Marvel as a digitally de-aged version of himself from the 90s. Gregg has anchored this series from the very beginning. In addition to his on-screen duties, Gregg also directed the premiere episode. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6 returns on ABC starting Friday, May 10. Be sure to check out the new trailer from the Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel below.
