And that's a wrap on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was revealed just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con this year that the Marvel TV series was set to conclude with next year's season 7. It's been an incredible run, but all good things must come to an end. While we still have more than a few episodes left before fans have to say goodbye, the cast and crew have taken to social media to say their goodbyes as the series finale recently wrapped filming.

Showrunners Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon both took to Instagram to share heartfelt and emotional goodbyes as the show concluded filming. Cast members such as Clark Gregg and Ming-Na Wen also shared their thoughts on the final days. Everyone was careful not to share any photos from the set, as to avoid potential spoilers for the show's final episode. Whedon shared an image of his daughter on the set and had this to say.

"#agentsofshield last day of filming. Ever. So much of our life has happened here. Our daughter doesn't know life without this show. Thank you to the behind-the-scenes family we've built here and to the fans who allowed us to build it. These Zephyr One sets are wrapped for good. Hard to describe the all emotions around here. But grateful is heavy in the mix. Love to all."

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the first live-action Marvel TV show of the Marvel Cinematic Universe era. While the show has always been on the bubble, in terms of cancelation, over on ABC, it has managed to maintain a loyal fanbase over the years. No small part of that was thanks to Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson, who was a fan-favorite from the movies before he made his way to the small screen. Gregg, not being overly wordy, shared his thoughts on the show ending on Instagram.

"Last day of #agentsofshield My god, I love these people. 7 seasons"

Clark Gregg shared an image of the central cast gathered on/around his beloved car Lola. Ming-Na Wen, who plays Melinda May, was particularly emotional in having to say her goodbyes to the show. Taking to Twitter, Wen expressed her complicated feelings about the situation.

"Tuesday, July 30, 2019: We shoot our last day of @AgentsofSHIELD. Spy's goodbye. I'm not okay. How is it that I'm numb & yet so emotional?"

The two-hour Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6 finale is set to air Friday, August 2. ABC and Marvel have yet to set a premiere date for season 7, but it's expected to arrive sometime in 2020.
