Agents of Shield Peggy Carter

Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will return in a 1940s-era flashback during the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 premiere, which will help set up her own series, Marvel's Agent Carter, debuting 8 episodes this winter on ABC.

Back during WWII, Carter was a key member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. prototype group Strategic Scientific Reserve. Her career path closely resembles that of current Director Phil Coulson, who is now tasked with rebuilding S.H.I.E.L.D. after it was decimated by H.Y.D.R.A. in the feature film Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Explains co-creator and executive producer of the series Jed Whedon,

"Coulson is a big student of history and wants to return to those old ideals of Agent Carter's time. He's, like, 'Let's be the S.H.I.E.L.D. we were meant to be!' He wants to do the job right this time."

While Jim Morita (Kenneth Choi) and Dum Dum Dugan (Neal McDonough) will be seen in "Shadows", it has not yet been revealed if they will be returning as full-time cast members in Marvel's Agent Carter.
