It seems that the latest collaboration between director Dito Montiel and actor Channing Tatum has found themselves an A-list star. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Al Pacino will star in Son of No One.

The legendary actor replaces another screen legend - Robert De Niro - who recently left the film. The story centers on a young police officer (Tatum) who gets assigned to the neighborhood he was raised in, while an old secret comes back to haunt him and threatens the life of his family. It wasn't clear what role Pacino would have in the film, but it was also said that Terrence Howard, Katie Holmes and Ray Liotta are in negotiations to join the cast as well.

Montiel will direct from a script that he wrote and it was said that the film will begin production on March 22 in New York City. Tatum and Montiel had previously worked together on the films A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Fighting.
