Two for the Money: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Director D.J. Caruso is packing his wallet with Al Pacino, Matthew McConaughey and Rene Russo for the Morgan Creek production of Two for the Money. The drama is aiming to start shooting in August in Vancouver.

McConaughey is set for the Dan Gilroy-penned project, with Pacino and Russo in negotiations to join him, sources said. Pacino's pay-or-play deal is expected to close this week.

The film, budgeted at north of $20 million, will see McConaughey play a star college football player who is at the top of his sport until he blows out his knee during a game, forcing him to choose a new profession. He winds up getting into the sports gambling business only to be recruited by Pacino's character, who runs one of the best sports-booking operations in the country. Russo would play the wife of Pacino's character.
