Actor Alan Alda has signed onto two new Universal Pictures comedies, Wanderlust and Tower Heist, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Wanderlust is from producer Judd Apatow, which centers on a couple (Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston) who try to escape society by joining a nudist colony. Alan Alda will portray the leader of the commune. David Wain is directing the movie from a script he co-wrote with Ken Marino.

Tower Heist stars Ben Stiller as the stressed-out manager of a luxury apartment facility. When one of the residents is sentenced to house arrest after swindling innocent people (including employees of the apartment complex) out of millions of dollars in a Ponzi scheme, Ben Stiller's character leads a group of defrauded employees to rob the tennant, who will be played by Alan Alda.

It was said that Alan Alda will join Wanderlust first and then move immediately to Tower Heist, which will be directed by Brett Ratner.
