Jamila Gavin's novel Coram Boy has been picked up by producers Scott Rudin and Allison Owen for a theatrical rendition. According to Variety, Alan Parker is set to write and direct the feature film.

The novel's narrative revolves around two orphan boys who befriend each other while staying at Britain's Coram Hospice in 1741. One of them was rescued from an African slave ship. The other was an abandoned heir.

The book has already been turned into a successful play. There is no word on when the actual movie would start shooting.
