True Blood star Alexander Skarsgård has joined the cast of Hidden for Warner Bros. and directors Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer.

The story centers on a family who retreats to a bomb shelter to hide from a mysterious outbreak, although no details were given for the actor's character. Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer sold their screenplay to Warner Bros. last year in a highly competitive bidding situation. The script also landed on the 2011 Black List.

Roy Lee, Lawrence Grey, Mason Novick, and Richard D. Zanuck are producing, with John Powers Middleton and Sebastian Aloi executive producing.

No production schedule was given, although it is said that the filmmakers' deals included progress-to-production language, meaning the studio wants to start production sooner rather than later. Alexander Skarsgård will next be seen in Battleship, debuting in theaters May 18.
