Alexandra Daddario has signed on to portray the female lead opposite Dwayne Johnson in the action-adventure San Andreas.

The plot centers on a helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) who journeys across the state of California to try and rescue his estranged daughter, after an enormous earthquake hits. No further details have been released regarding the plot or the characters at this time.

Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) is directing from a script that has been worked on by a number of writers. Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio wrote the original draft, with Allan Loeb (The Switch), Carlton Cuse (Lost) and, most recently Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes (The Conjuring) revising the script. No production schedule was given.

Alexandra Daddario can currently be seen in the hit HBO drama series True Detective. On the big screen, she most recently starred in Texas Chainsaw 3D and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
