Alexie Gilmore and Robin Williams have signed on to star in the indie feature World's Greatest Dad.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Williams will play Lance, a high school poetry teacher who copes with his son's death from a freak masturbation accident by faking a suicide note to spare the family shame. The note, published without his permission, ends up becoming a sensation, and Lance reignites his writing career by penning a personal journal he claims was written by his son (Daryl Sabara).
Gilmore plays Claire, a teacher who has an affair with Lance.
Bob Goldthwait penned the script and is directing the project, which began filming Tuesday in Seattle.
