Alfonso Pineda Ulloa will rewrite and direct the indie noir Black Wings Has My Angel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amaranth Film Partners and Indalo Prods. are producing the English-language project with Elijah Wood and Christopher Peditto.
Black Wings Has My Angel is based on a 1953 Gold Medal pulp novel by journalist Elliott Chaze. In the hard-boiled story, an ex-convict stages a daring armored-car robbery in Colorado with the help of a call girl he picked up in a backwoods Mississippi motel. Across the top of the original paperback cover is the classic pulp tagline: "She had the face of a madonna and a heart made of dollar bills."
No production date has been set.
