Last month, we reported the unfortunate news that screen legend Alan Rickman had passed away at the age of 69, after battling cancer. While we won't get to see him on screen, the beloved actor's final performance is yet to come, returning to voice Absolem, the Blue Caterpillar in this summer's Alice in Wonderland sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass, hitting theaters May 27. Today, the Disney Twitter feed debuted a new TV spot which features this beloved actor's voice, along with plenty of new footage.

Last week, we reported that Disney will have a huge presence at this weekend's Super Bowl, with the studio expected to promote a number of their upcoming movies during the big game. While no specific titles were mentioned, Alice Through the Looking Glass could certainly be one of them, especially considering that a few months have passed since the first trailer was released. While Disney didn't specify whether or not this is their actual Super Bowl TV spot, it's certainly possible.

Johnny Depp returns as The Mad Hatter, who is in great danger! Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter are also back. They join the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall. We are also introduced to several new characters including Zanik Hightopp (Rhys Ifans), the Mad Hatter's father and Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen), a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.

In Disney's Alice Through the Looking Glass, we get an all-new spectacular adventure featuring the unforgettable characters from Lewis Carroll's beloved stories. Alice meets Time himself, and must set off to rescue her beloved Underworld friends. Directed by James Bobin, he brings his own unique vision to the spectacular world Tim Burton created on screen in 2010 with Alice in Wonderland. The film is written by Linda Woolverton based on characters created by Lewis Carroll and produced by Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd, Jennifer Todd and Tim Burton with John G. Scotti serving as executive producer.

Alice Kingsleigh has spent the past few years following in her father's footsteps and sailing the high seas. Upon her return to London, she comes across a magical looking glass and returns to the fantastical realm of Underland and her friends the White Rabbit, Absolem, the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter (Depp), who is not himself. The Hatter has lost his Muchness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe inside the chamber of the Grand Clock which powers all time. Returning to the past, she comes across friends - and enemies - at different points in their lives, and embarks on a perilous race to save the Hatter before time runs out. Take a look at this new TV spot, and stay tuned for more on Alice Through the Looking Glass before it arrives in theaters this May.
