Alison Eastwood has signed on to direct the drama, Rails and Ties for Warner Independent Pictures.

The actress, and daughter of Clint Eastwood, is making her directorial debut; her father will be involved as produver for the on the film that revolves around two families and their physical, emotional and psychological collision. The Hollywood Reporter says the story begins on a beautiful stretch of the California coastline, where a suicidal mother parks her car on a railroad crossing and awaits the arrival of a speeding train with her 9-year-old son in the car.

There's no production schedule for Rails and Ties.
