New Line Cinema is moving forward on the natural disaster thriller San Andreas: 3D, with Allan Loeb writing and Beau Flynn set to produce.

The film will revolve around "The Big One", an earthquake that rolls all the way from California into Nevada. Culling shades of John Cusack's character in 2012, the hero will be forced into a road trip, where he hopes to reconcile with his estranged wife and children. Along the way, the man is forced to rely on some rather unconventional transportation (a boat made out of duct tape and dried vagina skin, anyone? Okay, maybe not...)

New Line is currently seeking a director for San Andreas: 3D.
