Big news for Big Love as actress Amanda Seyfried is leaving the show to pursue a career on the big screen. TV Guide Magazine is reporting that due to the success of the actress' recent film work, which includes Mamma Mia! with Meryl Streep and Jennifer's Body with Megan Fox, she will soon be leaving the hit HBO series to concentrate on her movie career full-time. Seyfried, who has played Bill Paxton's eldest daughter Sarah on the drama about a family of polygamists living in Utah since 2006, will be leaving the series at the end of the upcoming season.

The show's creator Will Scheffer had this to say about the shocking news, "She's been exploring her movie career for a couple of years now, and we've been giving her a lot of room to do that. I know having a commitment to a show for six months definitely cuts into her ability to pursue that career." It's being reported that the actress will depart from the series at the end of the season, in the eighth of nine episodes, as her character will finally fly the coop and leave her family. "She's moving away," confirmed Scheffer. It's also being reported that before Sarah leaves home she will be busy getting married in the third episode, which does not make her parents too happy at all.

Seyfried began her career on the daytime soap opera As The World Turns and later had a recurring role on Veronica Mars; her upcoming film projects include the starring role in Lasse Hallstrom's Dear John and Letters to Juliet co-starring Gael Garcia Bernal.
