Amanda Seyfried is in final negotiations to join the cast of While We're Young for writer-director Noah Baumbach (Frances Ha).

The story centers on an uptight documentary filmmaker (Ben Stiller) and his wife (Naomi Watts), whose lives are altered when they meet a free-spirited young couple (Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried). The gestating project has seen several cast members come and go throughout the years, including James Franco and Cate Blanchett, with Greta Gerwig once considered for Amanda Seyfried's role.

Noah Baumbach is directing from his own original screenplay, with Scott Rudin and Eli Bush producing. Production is scheduled to begin sometime this fall.

Amanda Seyfried most recently starred in The Big Wedding, and she voices a role in the animated feature Epic, which opens this weekend. She is currently shooting A Million Ways to Die in the West, directed by Seth MacFarlane.
