Prey was one of 2022's biggest surprises, especially for Predator fans, after the disappointing movie from 2018. Far from that failure and from the big screen too, since it debuted directly on streaming through Hulu, the new film earned the love of the audience and the applause of the critics. But will there be a sequel?

Well, if it were up to its protagonist Amber Midthunder, there would be no doubt. While speaking with Variety on the red carpet of the Bafta Tea Party, the actress expressed her desire to come back to the franchise and revealed that there had been some conversations about it:

“I don’t have a date for you. This is not an announcement, but I’m not saying it is not. We talk all the time about a lot of things and that’s probably one. [...] I’m ready. I loved that experience. I love that movie. And I would be happy to, you know, see where else we can take it”.

Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation about the sequel happening, given Prey's success and the Predator franchise's popularity, it wouldn’t be a surprise for the film to be granted a second part. Dan Trachtenberg’s movie stayed on Hulu’s top charts at the #1 spot for a couple of weeks and became Star+ most watched movie debut in Latin America.

Midthunder also spoke about the reception of the film and how it changed her life:

“Just having reached so many different groups and so many different audiences, and types of people and communities that could enjoy our movie. Whether was like the classic predator fans, or was indigenous communities or was… I have so many people telling me that they saw it and enjoyed it”.

Way before surprising the entire world by hunting a terrifying being from another planet, Amber Midthunder had the chance to be a part of some other wonderful franchises. On TV, she made some appearances on Banshee, the series starring Antony Starr, now playing Homelander on The Boys. She also participated in The Originals and Roswell, Mexico, two hit shows on The CW.

Most Predator fans recognized her for her role on Legion, the acclaimed show by Noah Hawley inside the universe of the X-Men. She also was a part of Taika Waitit’s Reservations Dog, one of the latest hits from the director.

Soon, she’ll be playing the part of Princess Yue in Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series that Netflix is developing, which will put her on the map forever, if that hasn’t happened already, thanks to Prey.
