AMC has given the go ahead for the drama, Mad Men for Lionsgate.

The show marks the first ever drama series for the cable network, which is created, written and executive produced by Matthew Weiner. The Hollywood Reporter says Mad Men follows the personal and professional lives of New York advertising around the 1960's. The cast includes Jon Hamm as Don Draper, a fast-rising creative director whose smooth exterior conceals secrets; January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, and Christina Hendricks also star in the series, alongside frequent guest star John Slattery.

Mad Men has been given a preliminary 13-episode run, set to debut on AMC next June.
