Gravitas Ventures has released a new clip from 7 Guardians of the Tomb and it's got all of the action and spiders you can handle. There's plenty of nods to Raiders of the Last Ark, The Mummy, and even Jurassic Park thrown in for what looks like an epic B-movie blast starring Kelsey Grammer, Kellan Lutz, and Bingbing Li. However, 7 Guardians of the Tomb does not look like a movie for people that have a fear of spiders or Arachnid flying in bubbles. Consider yourself warned.
7 Guardians of the Tomb revolves around an innocent discovery of a well-preserved mummified Emperor from 200 BC China unearths a 2000-year-old nightmare, a secret that should have remained buried. The largest Chinese-Australian co-production to date, 7 Guardians of the Tomb stars Golden Globe and Emmy winner Kelsey Grammer (Boss, Cheers), Kellan Lutz (The Legend of Hercules, Twilight) and multi-award-winning Chinese actress and singer Bingbing Li. As a team of scientists who lose a colleague in an ancient labyrinth, the motley crew must work together to recover him while trying to make the discovery of a century. In their quest they find themselves underground, battling ancient, terrifying Chinese magic and making their way through a swarm of deadly, man-eating spiders - only to uncover the secret behind the insects' power and intelligence.
There's a lot going on the in the new clip from 7 Guardians of the Tomb, but Kelsey Grammer's voice is instantly recognizable, even before his face comes on the screen. We get a collapsing bridge in the best homage to Indiana Jones, followed by a woman who erupts with flesh-eating spiders that cause her to fall into a pit of fire. It's a fun time all around. And it appears that the quest may have gotten the best of Grammer's character, as he seems a bit unhinged by the end of the trailer that we've also included below, as he exclaims, "This is about becoming God!" Bingbing Li tries to convince him otherwise, but it seems that it's far too late for Kelsey Grammer's character.
The man-eating spiders are definitely the true stars of this adventure thriller. They give a classic Drive-In movie vibe. They are seen ripping out of the arm of a corpse and attacking humans at every chance they get. When the spiders can't get high enough to attack their prey, they simply float in bubbles to get what they need and it's pretty terrifying, especially if you're not a huge fan of these eight-legged freaks in the first place. But what gives these spiders their powers to begin with?
The mystery of 7 Guardians of the Tomb will have to be solved watching the film. The movie is currently in theaters as of February 23rd and it's also available to purchase and stream on VOD. 7 Guardians of the Tomb was directed by Kimble Rendall and written by Kimble Rendall and Paul Staheli. You can check out the brand- new clip for the movie below, but you have been warned. There are more than a few moments of intense spider action and some pretty gory moments as well, so watch at your own risk. You can check out clip below, courtesy of the Gravitas Ventures.
