Did you know that Tom Hiddleston initially auditioned to play Thor in the 2011 Marvel Phase One adventure? Even if you did, you can take a rare look at the actor's screen test in a new featurette for Thor: The Dark World's upcoming Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD on February 25. The featurette gives fans a rare glimpse at Tom Hiddleston's audition reel, where he is seen swinging Mjolnir. Ultimately, Marvel chose him to play Loki, with this video also including interviews with Natalie Portman and producer Kevin Feige who talk about the importance of his character. In addition, we have a deleted scene that shows a conversation between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and his mother Frigga (Rene Russo), who talk about the nefarious ways of Loki and whether or not she regrets sharing her magical abilities with Odin (Anthony Hopkins). And, in case you missed it earlier this week, you can CLICK HERE to check out a clip where Tom Hiddleston is seen wearing the Captain America suit.

Marvel's Thor: The Dark World continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel's The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos... but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
