The latest trailer for the upcoming period comedic mystery, Amsterdam, puts the spotlight on the movie’s stellar cast. Led by the A-list, award-winning trio Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington, the footage reveals a little more of what Amsterdam will involve. Though not too much. You can check out the latest trailer for Amsterdam below.

The latest trailer is entitled Names, and comes courtesy of the official YouTube channel for 20th Century Studios. The footage focuses on the three main actors, Academy Award winner Christian Bale as Burt, Academy Award nominee Margot Robbie as Valerie, and the Golden Globe nominated John David Washington as Harold, who star as three friends, a doctor, a nurse, and an attorney, who find themselves becoming the prime suspects in a murder in Amsterdam during the 1930s.

"We need to clear our names," Bale’s character Burt is seen saying in the trailer. There has been a lot of mystery surrounding Amsterdam and what it will involve, with this latest footage offering a further glimpse into what we can expect from this comedy crime caper. It is revealed that the murder victim that Bale, Robbie, and Washington find themselves accused of killing "was killed because of something that they had seen.” Further dialogue reveals that the crime could involve an "organization that want to rule the world."

As the three friends delve deeper and deeper into the mystery, Robbie’s character Valerie is seen saying "Let's hope this goes well," no doubt referring to a risky and probably somewhat zany attempt to clear their names.

That gap occurred amid multiple accusations regarding his conduct and abusive manner during filming as well as in his personal life.

Amsterdam is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 7, 2022, by 20th Century Studios.
