John Patrick Shanley has written a theatrical adaptation of his own Pulitzer Prize-winning play Doubt. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amy Adams is in negotiations to star in the film.

Adams would be appearing opposite Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman in the drama. The story revolves around a Bronx Catholic school principle that accuses a priest of diddling a child. Adams would play a young nun who gets caught up in the scandal.

The film doesn't have a set start date at this time.
