In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Universal has bought the children's graphic novel series Lunch Lady from writer Jarrett Krosoczka.

Amy Poehler is going to star and she will also executive produce along with the Gotham Group.

The script is being written by Sarah Haskins and Emily Halpern.

The Lunch Lady series will come out at the end of July from Knopf Books for Young Readers. It looks at a school cafeteria server who doles out helpings of justice as she and her assistant look into wrongdoings.

The titles in the series are "Lunch Lady and the League of Librarians" and "Lunch Lady and the Cyborg Substitute," both of which come out this summer. "Lunch Lady and the Author Visit Vendetta" should be released in December and "Lunch Lady and the Summer Camp Shakedown" will come out in the summer of 2010.
