Amy Smart has been tapped as the lead in CBS' drama pilot Meant to Be's, and Fred Savage has landed the lead on another CBS pilot, comedy Single White Millionaire, lifting the contingency on the project. On the directing side, Desperate Housewives helmer Larry Shaw has been tapped to direct CBS' drama pilot Ny-Lon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Meant to Be's is a romantic drama about Janine (Smart), a wealthy young gallery owner in New York who elopes one night only to be thrown from her 40th-floor balcony en route to her honeymoon. She becomes a "Meant to Be," helping people on Earth head in the "meant to be" direction before she can go to heaven.
