Mean Girls: According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Saturday Night Live" alumna Ana Gasteyer has joined the cast of Mean Girls for Paramount Pictures.

The film is being produced by her former "SNL" boss, Lorne Michaels, and executive produced by Jill Messick. Tina Fey, Gasteyer's "SNL" co-star, is writing, and the project is shooting in Toronto.

In "Girls," Lindsay Lohan toplines as a girl who enrolls at a Chicago public high school after growing up abroad. She then experiences how cruel teenagers -- especially girls -- can be when she falls in love with the wrong guy. Gasteyer plays her mom, a research zoologist who instigates the move to the Windy City.
