According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anchor Bay Films has grabbed the rights in the U.S., Canada, Australia, the U.K. and New Zealand to CineTel Films' remake of the 1978 cult film I Spit On Your Grave.

Directed by Steven R. Monroe, the new film follows "a city girl, played by Sarah Butler, who rents an isolated cabin in the country to write a novel. The victim of an assault and rape, she seeks vengeance on her attackers."

Other members of the cast are Daniel Franzese, Chad Lindberg, Rodney Eastman and Andrew Howard.

I Spit On Your Grave is going to receive a targeted theatrical release in the fall, followed by a DVD release in the first quarter of 2011.
