The Guardian: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Holes helmer Andrew Davis has dug up a new directing gig at the Walt Disney Co., signing on to helm the drama The Guardian.

The project centers on a rebellious young man whose life is veering out of control. He enlists in the Coast Guard, where he forms a mentor-type friendship with a legendary rescue swimmer who lost his crew in a fatal crash. The older man helps turn around the life of the younger man by teaching him the meaning of sacrifice.

The project has attracted A-level talent -- it was previously out to actors like Ashton Kutcher -- but has no cast attached.
