Man of the hour Andrew Garfield needs to take some time and "recalibrate" after the release of his newest work, Under the Banner of Heaven. In the FX drama series, Garfield plays a detective investigating a chilling double murder. Fans can check it out when the series starts streaming on Hulu on April 28, 2022.

Over the past year, Garfield has become one of Hollywood's most endeared celebrities. Fans were overjoyed to see him return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home in December, with that movie serving as one of the most successful releases of all time. Garfield was also up for Best Lead Actor at the Academy Awards for his acclaimed performance as Jonathan Larson in Tick, Tick... Boom!; he had also won the Golden Globe for the role.

In promotion of his new series, Garfield recently spoke with Variety about what might be coming next for the popular actor. For now, there are no immediate plans to get to work on the next project, as Garfield says he needs to basically recharge his batteries. After having such a tremendous year, it would seem that the accomplished actor wants to take a moment to enjoy life outside the industry while putting some serious thought into his next big role.

“I am going to take a break. I’m going to rest for a little bit. I need to recalibrate and reconsider what I want to do next and who I want to be and just be a bit of a person for a while. Because as you know, that is a washing machine, that awards season. I need to just be a bit ordinary for a while.”

Many Marvel fans feel that Andrew Garfield deserves to finally have his third solo Amazing Spider-Man film after his return was so well-received in Spider-Man: No Way Home. There have been fan campaigns and petitions for Garfield to return for this movie, as he's the only one of the three big-screen, live-action Spider-Men not to have his own trilogy. Garfield has previously teased that he's open to coming back for another film, though nothing is set in stone at this time. As he said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast:

“In terms of moving forward with the character, yes, I am definitely open to that, and again, it would have to be something very unique, very special, and of service to an audience, of service to the character. I think there's something playful and unique and odd and unexpected to be done. I'm not sure what that is, but if we could figure that out, it would be so much fun.”

For now, fans can check out Garfield playing a detective in the new drama series Under the Banner of Heaven. It will start streaming on Hulu on April 28, 2022. To catch him on the big screen, many theaters are still playing Spider-Man: No Way Home.
