Andrew Garfield, Jennifer Garner, and Marcia Gay Harden have signed onto star in the adaptation Back Roads for Infinity Media.

The project is based off the Tawni O'Dell novel, which centers around a young man who must take care of his younger sisters after their mother is sent to prison for murdering their father.

Andrew Garfield will star as the new head of the family, while Jennifer Garner will play a neighbor who becomes romantically involved with Andrew Garfield's character. Marcia Gay Harden has the role of the young man's court-appointed therapist. Several young actresses are still vying to play the sisters.

Adrian Lyne (Unfaithful) will direct from a script he co-wrote with the author Tawni O'Dell. Production is tentatively set to begin in June.
