Production Weekly reports that actor Andy Garcia has joined the cast of The Air I Breathe, which is being directed by Jieho Lee.

The crime drama penned by the director, along with Bob DeRosa, is based on an old Chinese proverb that breaks life down into four emotional cornerstones: Happiness (Forest Whitaker), Pleasure (Bredan Fraiser), Sorrow (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Love (Kevin Bacon). Each of the four protagonists in the script is based on one of the emotions; and like the proverb, their paths are inextricably linked to each other.

Mexican actress Carmen Salinas will also play a role in the film which begins shooting this Thursday in Mexico City.
