60 Minutes journalist Andy Rooney passed away last night at the age of 92, after complications arose from a minor surgery. Here's what 60 Minutes executive producer Jeff Fager had to say about Andy Rooney's death.

"It's a sad day at 60 Minutes and for everybody here at CBS News. It's hard to imagine not having Andy around. He loved his life and he lived it on his own terms. We will miss him very much."

Andy Rooney announced on October 2 that he will no longer regularly appear on 60 Minutes. Andy Rooney spent more than 60 years at CBS, and was best known for his essays on 60 Minutes, a regular feature on the show since 1978.

60 Minutes will end its Sunday night episode with a tribute to Andy Rooney by Morley Safer.
