It seems that a highly-anticipated sequel might be moving forward in the near future and there is some possible casting news as well. Moviehole is reporting that Angelina Jolie has been "in serious talks" for a role in Robert Rodriguez's Sin City 2.

The site is reporting that Jolie is in talks to play the female lead of Ava, who appears in the Frank Miller graphic novel "A Dame to Kill For." It was said that Jolie had talked to Rodriguez about the role as early as 2006, but now it seems that the film is finally gaining momentun and the "filmmakers are trying to get Jolie to officially commit to playing the female lead."
