As we reported here, Angelina Jolie's name has been suggested for taking over the role of Catwoman in the next chapter of Chris Nolan's Batman movies. After receiving an endorsement from Julie Newmar, who played Catwoman in the television version of Batman, The New York Post's Page Six reports that Jolie has been in discussions with her friend Tera Patrick.

"They are friends and keep in touch via e-mail" says the source. "She and Angie have a girl-talk thing going. After seeing reports that she'll land the lead role, Jolie asked Patrick what she thought. Tera had such insights into the role that Jolie cracked, 'You should do it!'"

After the box-office success of The Dark Knight, speculation has run rampant about who Nolan will cast in a possible second sequel to his Batman Begins. In addition to Jolie's name being attached to the character of Catwoman, Johnny Depp has been suggested as taking over the character of the Riddler, and Philip Seymour Hoffman's name has been dropped as a contender for the role of the Penguin.
