The show centers on Charlie (Charlie Sheen), an former professional baseball player with a hot temper, who somehow ends up being an anger management therapist. Shawnee Smith will play Charlie's ex-wife, who is struggling to find her own identity after living her life in Charlie's shadows for so long.
Another key role still to be cast is Charlie's therapist. It seems FX has narrowed it down to actresses Selma Blair and Elaine Hendrix. The network conducts its final test for the role today, so we should know fairly shortly who landed the part.
The show, which is based on the 2003 comedy Anger Management, was given a 10-episode order when FX picked up the show in October. The Debmar-Mercury series will receive an additional 90 episodes if the show succeeds during its initial run.
