Another familiar face will be seen in Ballerina, the first John Wick spinoff movie that's currently in production in Prague. The spinoff puts Ana de Armas into the starring role as a deadly woman seeking vengeance, though there will be some characters from the other films to help bridge the gap between them. There are rumors of Keanu Reeves appearing as John Wick while it's been confirmed Ian McShane will reprise his role as Winston.

Now, Anjelica Huston has been officially announced to reprise her role from John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. Per Lionsgate, Huston has closed a deal to return as The Director, the head of the Ruska Roma, in Ballerina. She joins the production in Prague which is underway with director Len Wiseman. Shay Hatten penned the screenplay for the spinoff, which is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski.

"The idea of Ballerina was formed around the scenes with Anjelica in John Wick 3," Lee said in a statement. "Anjelica Huston is an icon and is nothing less than Hollywood royalty. The world of Wick is always made richer by her commanding screen presence.”

Huston, an accomplished actress, previously won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in the black comedy Prizzi's Honor. She also received a Golden Globe for starring in the HBO movie Iron Jawed Mouth. Fans will recognize her well from her popular role as Morticia in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values, while some of her other notable credits include The Witches, 50/50, The Darjeeling Limited, and The Crossing Guard. More recently, she served as the narrator for the Wes Anderson film The French Dispatch.

While Keanu Reeves is stepping out of the spotlight for the spinoff so Ana de Armas can shine, the essence of Ballerina will be fitting of the John Wick franchise. In the film, de Armas plays a ballerina-assassin who seeks revenge when her family is killed. She won't be any less deadly than John Wick, though she'll be utilizing different skills in order to build up her own body count in the movie.

On Nov. 7, de Armas shared a photo of herself in the makeup chair while on the set. Revealing that filming had begun, the actress exclaimed that the first day of shooting was "awesome." The photo, seen above, also provides a sneak peek at de Armas as she'll appear in the film, at least a look at her hairstyle. No other images from the film have yet been released.

Ballerina does not yet have a premiere date. Meanwhile, John Wick 4 will be hitting theaters on March 24, 2023.
