A Golden-Globe nominated young star has just landed a new dramatic film project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Up In the Air's Anna Kendrick has landed a role in Mandate Pictures' untitled cancer film that is moving forward once again.

The project was stalled in November when director Nicole Holofcener left the film and now The Wackness director Jonathan Levine has come on board to direct the film. Seth Rogen and James McAvoy were already attached to the film, which revolves around McAvoy's character, a 25-year-old who discovers he has been stricken with cancer. Kendrick will play a young psychologist who is assigned to McAvoy's character, despite her lack of experience. It was unclear what Seth Rogen's role in the film would be.

The film, based off the true exploits of screenwriter Will Reiser, who battled cancer in his mid-20s, will begin production in Vancouver next month.
