Good news Rogue fans! Anna Paquin is back! After being left on the cutting room floor during the initial first edit of X-Men: Days of Future Past, 20th Century Fox is confirming that the actress has been put back into the movie, and her name will be included in end credits.

Back in December, Director Bryan Singer claimed he had to cut the actress out, despite her presence as one of the main characters in the first three X-Men movies. He then revealed that she was only in one scene, and that it didn't hurt the movie, and was essential to the pacing of the story.

"Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It's a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she's in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won't appear in it. She did a fantastic job. She was awesome in the sequence. She's a brilliant actress. I would work with her in a heartbeat. She completely understood. It's very disappointing, but she's very professional and she knows that stuff happens, particularly with material you shoot early on in production. Films evolve."

The actress was reportedly on set for only one week, though she has since been used quite a bit in the marketing materials, even after it was announced that she was being axed from the final cut. After reshoots were completed, many fans questioned whether she might actually return. And now, that seems to be the case.

The actress' name was first noticed in the end credits for the final trailer that was released this week. Later, a 20th Century Fox representative confirmed that Anna Paquin had been cut back into the movie, though she won't appear on screen for very long.

"Essentially, [it's] a cameo."

The actress was originally part of a rescue sequence that also included Magneto (Ian McKellen), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Iceman (Shawn Ashmore). The content of her new scene has not been revealed.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is the second largest film 20th Century Fox has ever produced, behind Avatar, and it is the most ambitious entry in the franchise yet, spanning a series that is almost 14 years old. Many of the original trilogy stars are returning alongside the younger X-Men: First Class cast, which makes for one very large character stable. It makes sense that a cut or two would have to happen along the way.

Are you happy that Anna Paquin is back as Rogue? Or do you think this is just one mutant too many?
