Last month, actress Sharon Stone dropped quite the big bombshell on CBS' The Late Late Show with James Corden, revealing that she has in fact signed on for a small role in an upcoming, yet unidentified Marvel movie. She said on the late night talk show that she couldn't speak about her character, due to confidentiality agreements, but now the actress has dropped another big hint about her role. We still don't know what movie she's appearing in, but these new details may hint that she's joining Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The 58-year-old actress was recently part of a profile piece by AARP, along with Alfre Woodard and Jane Fonda. While the piece largely centers on how these actresses are still going strong into their twilight years, they did reveal one tidbit about Sharon Stone's mysterious Marvel character. Here's an excerpt from that article below.

"Woodard and Stone are about to become very familiar to the highly sought-after comic book film crowd: Woodard's character is a villain in Marvel's anticipated Netflix series Luke Cage; Stone has been cast as a superhero - she'll only reveal that her secret power is heat - in a yet-to-be-named movie, also for Marvel."

When Sharon Stone first revealed her Marvel casting last month, many had speculated that she could be playing Janet Van Dyne in the Phase 3 sequel Ant-Man and The Wasp, the mother of Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne. In the Marvel comics, Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp, did have heat-based powers, in the form of energy blasts she could fire at her enemies. Marvel president Kevin Feige did confirm last month that Janet Van Dyne would be introduced in Ant-Man and the Wasp, but he didn't say when the casting would be announced.

If Sharon Stone is actually playing Janet Van Dyne, it would reunite her with Basic Instinct co-star Michael Douglas, who is believed to return as Hank Pym, Janet's husband. It's worth noting that, in an interview from December, Evangeline Lilly said she would love to see Michelle Pfieffer come aboard to play Janet Van Dyne. There has also been talk of a solo Wasp movie that could happen, if Ant-Man and the Wasp is a success. Of course, it's also possible that Sharon Stone has landed a completely different role, but until an announcement is made, we'll just have to keep guessing.
