Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) casually mentions that Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) should call The Avengers in a new TV spot for Ant-Man, arriving in theaters July 17. Of course, we know that Paul Rudd will meet some of the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, which is currently shooting. Perhaps this sly reference is a hint that at least one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes might make a cameo in Ant-Man, but it's too soon to tell for sure.
This video also gives us new footage of Darren Cross, a.k.a. Yellowjacket doing battle with Ant-Man, where they both shrink down to size over a toy train set, which should get a big laugh when fans see it in theaters. The nefarious Yellowjacket also threatens to destroy all of Hank Pym's close friends and family members, largely because he refused to share his Ant-Man technology, leading him to develop his own suit. While we don't see them in this TV spot, the supporting cast also includes Michael Pena, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Neil Hamburger and Bobby Cannavale
The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios' Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
