Apple TV+ has been dropping back-to-back action thrillers like Slow Horses and Shantaram this year. Now It is back with another action thriller, Echo 3, based on the Israeli television series When Heroes Fly and inspired by Amir Gutfruend's novel of the same name. Echo 3 is one of the most anticipated Apple TV+ shows for fall 2022, produced by Keshet Studios, the US production arm of Keshet International. The series is created by Academy Award winner Mark Boal, well known for his films The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty.

The streaming platform recently released a trailer for Echo 3, and the series, shot in Colombia and filmed in English and Spanish, captivates viewers with a black ops intrigue. So, here's everything we know about Echo 3, Apple TV+'s action thriller series.

The cast of the upcoming series is quite appealing, especially Jessica Ann Collins, who plays Amber and is known for her appearances in Zero Dark Thirty, Revolution, and Person of Interest. The lead roles are played by Michiel Huisman and Luke Evans, who plays Prince and Bambi, respectively. Huisman has had a long and successful career in films and television shows such as Game of Thrones, World War Z, and The Haunting of Hill House. Luke Evans, likewise, is well-known for his performances in movies such as Fast and Furious, Dracula Untold, and Beauty and the Beast. Everything Else We Know

Echo 3 release date

One of the few things we find appealing about this show is the casting, as Luke Evans is no stranger to action backdrops, and Michiel Huisman needs no introduction. Jessica Ann Collins previously played Debbie in Zero Dark Thirty, directed by Mark Boal. According to AppleInsider, Boal expressed his thoughts on the show. He stated:

"I'm honored to collaborate with the team at AppleTV+ who gave me the opportunity to make the series I wanted to make – one that feels big and purposeful and refuses to stay in any lane. This is a black ops thriller and tale of international intrigue, set in Colombia, a country I had known only from afar and immediately fell in love with."

With such a solid casting and production crew, the show's success seems very much within reach. As far as the action goes, it would be a treat for the viewers since Echo 3 will have a similar tone to movies like The Gray Man and Chris Hemsworth's Extraction. Hopefully, the series will pull off the epic story of When Heroes Fly more dramatically, and you'll find out shortly when it debuts on Apple TV+.
