Armie Hammer is set to star in the psychological thriller Mine, which is being set up by The Conjuring producer Peter Safran.

The story centers on a soldier who becomes stranded in the desert after failing at an assassination mission. He must try to endure not only the dangerous desert elements, but the psychological toll it has taken on him.

Fabio Guaglione and Fabio Resinaro are directing from their own original screenplay, with Peter Safran producing and financing the project through his Safran Company. Armie Hammer is serving as executive producer, with Joan Mao set to co-produce. Shooting is scheduled to begin this fall, with the producer and William Morris Endeavor shopping the international rights at the Cannes Film Festival next month.

Armie Hammer most recently starred in Disney's The Lone Ranger, and he will next be seen in Warner Bros.' The Man from U.N.C.L.E..
