Earlier this week, Sony accidentally released a digital version of the in-theaters film Armored, making the Nimrod Antal-directed film available as a free digital download for about five hours at the PlayStation Store, according to Afterdawn.

Once Sony caught wind, they removed the Armored download, but the film resurfaced later on some viral sites. Since this is a pretty ridiculous oversight on behald of Sony, is it safe to assume this to be a marketing stunt to try to contend with box office favorite Avatar? Hmmm.

Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, Laurence Fishburne, Skeet Ulrich, Amaury Nolasco, Andre Jamal Kinney, Milo Ventimiglia, Fred Ward and Columbus Short star in the film, about a crew of officers at an armored transport security firm who risk their lives when they embark on the ultimate heist... against their own company. Armed with a seemingly fool-proof plan, the men plan on making off with a fortune with harm to none. But when an unexpected witness interferes, the plan quickly unravels and hell breaks loose; all bets are off and each man must fight to survive on a dog-eat-dog battleground made of steel.
