Its been floating around for some time that Arnold Schwarzenegger might reunite with director James Cameron on the anticipated sci-fi sequel Avatar 2. Now, Latino Review is confirming this casting news from sources deep within the production. This has not, however, been confirmed by 20th Century Fox. As of now, its still being considered a rumor.

In August, it was announced that there would be three back-to-back sequels to 2009's Avatar, with Josh Friedman set to write Avatar 2, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver penning Avatar 3, and Shane Salerno finishing off the Quadrilogy with Avatar 4. Shooting is scheduled to begin in 2014, with the first film arriving in December 2016, with the next two hitting in 2017 and 2018.

Avatar 2 will pick up where the first film ended, with Jake Sully permanently transferring his consciousness into his Na'vi avatar so that he can live his new life with Princess Neytiri. This is what James Cameron had to say about the story.

"It would be a continuation of their story and I expect that those nasty humans didn't go away forever: 'Oh, well that didn't work!'"

One of the new 'nasty humans' will be Arnold Schwarzenegger, playing a general who hopes to colonize and quarantine the Na'vi. This will be the actor's first film with James Cameron in over 20 years. The pair first made The Terminator together in 1984, and went onto collaborate on the hugely successful sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991. Their last film was True Lies in 1994, and a True Lies 2 has been rumored ever since. Still no word on if that is happening or not.

Arnold Schwarzenegger recently talked about reuniting with James Cameron, hinting that they had something in place.

"Movie-wise, he's tied up with his next two movies, but hopefully, there's something down the line when he's finished with that. I always look forward to working with him because James Cameron is a very talented director."

What do you think? Is this just what Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to get his movie career back on track? Are you excited to see the two masters back together again? Or is this just another useless rumor?
