The CW Network has announced that Franz Drameh, best known for his roles in Attack the Block and last year's Edge of Tomorrow, has been cast as Jay Jackson in the Arrow / Flash Spinoff. Since there are no characters named Jay Jackson in the known DC Universe, many are wondering if Jay Jackson will eventually be revealed as an iconic hero or villain from the comics. Take a look at the official character description below.

"Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete, whose pro-career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew."

Some are already speculating that Jay Jackson could actually be Victor Stone, a.k.a. Cyborg, a character who will be played on the big screen by Ray Fisher in the two-part Justice League movie and his own Cyborg movie, set for release in 2020. Back in March, a casting breakdown revealed details about the three major DC Comics characters who will be featured in this spinoff, who have never been featured in a TV series before, although that would rule out Victor Stone/Cyborg, since he appeared in three episodes of Smallville. Still, the description for "Mystery Hero" from March does have some similarities with Jay Jackson, as you can see below.

"An African-American male in his twenties will fill the role of a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations."

Regardless of who he's playing, Franz Drameh joins a cast that includes Brandon Routh (The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein), Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl) and Caity Lotz, who originally played Black Canary before she was killed in the Arrow Season 3 premiere.
