As Warner Bros. gets ready to shoot their big screen version of the Suicide Squad, The CW is bringing back their own version in an upcoming Arrow episode, fittingly dubbed "Suicidal Tendencies", which will be the 17th episode of Season 3. No air date was given for the episode yet, but the squad will be quite different from the last time we saw them in the Season 2 episode "Suicide Squad".

Cynthia Addai-Robinson is returning as Amanda Waller alongside Michael Rowe as Deadshot, with Amy Gumenick's Cupid joining the squad as its newest member. This new episode will not feature Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White) or Shrapnel (Sean Maher), who was killed in "Suicide Squad", although no other characters have been confirmed to replace them. "Suicidal Tendencies" will also introduce another character to the Arrow-verse, Senator Cray (Steven Culp). In the Suicide Squad comics by John Ostrander, Cray was a corrupt Senator who used the Squad to further his political career. In the show, he will be at the forefront of a rescue mission in the Republic of Kasnia.

It should be noted that The CW did have plans for a Suicide Squad TV series spin-off, but that was scrapped after Warner Bros. announced their plans for their Suicide Squad movie. It's possible that Suicide Squad episodes could be an annual event, since it was recently reported that Arrow's crossover episode with The Flash will happen every season. What do you think about the Suicide Squad's return to Arrow? The show continues its Season 3 run tonight with "Midnight City", airing at 8 PM ET on The CW.
