Arrow dialed up the anticipation for its fifth season at Comic-Con 2016 when fans in attendance were treated to an exclusive sizzle reel during the show's panel session in Ballroom 20 on Saturday, July 23. The annual, and always on point, SDCC highlight reel featured first looks at Team Arrow 2.0 recruits Evelyn Sharp and Wild Dog, and closed with the shocking revelation of its Season 5 "Big Bad," Prometheus, which left the audience quivering for the show's return Wednesday, October 5, at 8/7c on The CW.

Surprising fans for the second year in a row, Vixen closed out the Arrow Comic-Con 2016 panel on Saturday, July 23, with an animated Season 2 sneak peek, highlighted by guest appearances from The Flash, Firestorm and Weather Wizard. Vixen returns with all-new episodes this fall, only on CW Seed.

In Arrow Season 5, Oliver Queen sets out to create a new Team Arrow as some dark forces begin to rise up around Star City. Katie Cassidy is back as Laurel Lance / Black Canary and will arrive in the first new episode of the season. She will then be a series regular on all of The CW superhero shows. In the new trailer, we get to see Arrow training Curtis Holt, Rick Gonzalez's Wild Dog, Evelyn Sharp and more.

All the while, there is a evil archer on the loose, terrorizing the city. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim calls this dark force Prometheus. He is a new character, not based on a preexisting DC Comics character, and will be the main bad guy for the entire season.

The Wire star Chad Coleman takes on the role of baddie Tobias Church, as wayward vigilantism spreads throughout Star City. Madison McLaughlin will return as a new version Artemis. Then there is the addition of Rick Gonzalez's Wild Dog, and Josh Segarra's Vigilante. Carly Pope will appear in several episodes as ab Coast City reporter who has a comic attachment to Green Lantern. And as reported earlier in the month, former WWE wrestler Stardust is set to take on Oliver Queen as well in these new episodes.

Star Stephen Amell claims Flash's time-turning twists will not really affecting any of Arrow's chronology. And Oliver Queen will be getting a new suit at some point. Echo Kellum has been elevated to series regular as Curtis Holt, and Colton Haynes will return as Roy Harper for a number of episodes.
