The CW announced today that the November Arrowverse crossover will be entitled Crisis on Earth-X, which will air over two nights on Monday, November 27 and Tuesday, November 28. The network has also released the first poster for this crossover event, which was created by DC Comics artist Phil Jimenez, who pays homage to the classic comic book crossovers from the past. The Arrowverse crossover dates were confirmed back in August, but this is the first time we've gotten any details about the story. Here's what executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg had to say in a joint statement.

"We conceived this year's crossover to be evocative of the annual Justice League/Justice Society crossovers we grew up with and looked forward to as kids. Phil was the perfect choice to bring the comic book cover iteration of this idea to life. You can count on one hand the number of artists who could compellingly represent so many characters in a single image. Phil is one of them. And his design invokes the cover of Justice League #207, which was the 20th annual JLA/JSA crossover. Our 10-year-old selves are in heaven."

Deadline also reports that the two-night crossover event will bring all of the heroes together to celebrate the wedding of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton), although the celebration is short-lived when, "villains from Earth-X crash the festivities with a deadly agenda." The poster features a number of the established characters across Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, but there is also a surprising inclusion on this poster, which could mean this will be a five-way crossover event.

One of the other characters on the poster is The Ray, who is the main character in the upcoming CW Seed animated series Freedom Fighters: The Ray, which is also set on Earth-X. Another report from TV Insider confirms that Russell Tovey, who will lend his voice to The Ray on this animated series, will also star as a live-action version of this character in the new crossover. No details have been given about this character, or how he will be brought into this world from Earth-X.

Arrow star Stephen Amell revealed this summer that he really wants an Arrow-Supernatural crossover, bringing the Winchester Brothers into the Arrowverse world, somehow. There is no indication that such a crossover is even in the works or not, but Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles seemed to dismiss the notion during an interview with Conan O'Brien at Comic-Con just a few weeks after Amell first brought up this unconventional crossover. It hasn't been revealed yet if there will also be a spring crossover, like the Flash-Supergirl musical crossover that aired this past spring. While we wait for Crisis on Earth-X, airing on The CW air across two nights Monday and Tuesday, November 27-28, take a look at the first poster below.
